Its sad to announce what we knew what was going to be happening. Mark is off stateside with Jess the lovely, and son Sean (or Splatt to his mates), who not too shabby on the drums incidentally.
So, that leaves a gaping hole in the band, a chasm, a empty space..........or a wart thats been removed! (you decide!) Seriously though, the show must go on and all that, so we are currently road testing a potential new band member as we speak, at our secret jam headquaters at an undisclosed Oxfordshire location.
Gigs have been coming thick and fast, our favourites so far have been The Red Lion in Witney, and also The Red Lion in Brackley. To anyone reading this who saw us, YOU ROCK! Its nice to be appreciated, and to those venues it was clear we were. We salute you all.
We gigged at an undisclosed Oxfordshire pub recently that was the other dark side of what we do. Y'know the tumbleweed you see in those desolate western films? Need I go on. Some people need to learn how to have fun, they really do, shame, but, there you go, we will just rock on regardless.
Some things never change.
Slasher still changes guitars at full volume
Steve still plays the drums in "go fast" mode
Andy whinges about Steve in "Go fast" mode
But we have fun doing what we do, and the response at times, has been overwhelming!!
Keep an eye out at your local live music venue, you never know when there's a Lost Chihuahua around the corner!!
Love you all..
Update 17 April.
Busy bank holiday weekend. Gigged at the Black house in Kidlington. Thanks to all who gave us a cheer! Was a good night, very enjoyable! Went to point to point races at Lockhinge, didn't win anything. Gutted!
Anyway, I would like to welcome our new bass player Paul Lumley to the fold. Paul has shown his keeness to join the band since we hooked up with him a little while ago, Paul has proved to be very reliable which is essential to this band, as we are all very committed to the cause. The man himself lives in North Oxford and works near Banbury which is ideal as we rehearse between the two at band headquaters ( at previously mentioned undisclosed location blah blah whatever) Marks last gig will be at The Greaves Club on 5th May. The band would like to officially give many thanks to him for being a part of what we have created so far, as said, a lot of time and effort has gone into our set, and he's a great bassist, but admittedly, I've seen better! Joking aside, we carry on regardless, and we will forge on...........
Untill next time
We salute you
Lost Chihuahua
Update 22/07/06
Well, we have just done a new demo, and I think that I can say for all of us, we are really pleased. Steve took a bit of calming, but after drummers jitters (Is there such a thing)? he calmed it, and we managed to get 7 good tracks done, thanks to Steve White recording and mixing Guru (We are not worthy etc etc!)
Slasher was majestic on the lead guitar, and kept up admirably with Steves speed drumming, Paul laid down some nice bass, and I provided the lyrical content, which was OK.
We have already booked three or four gigs on the strength of that demo so things are looking good.
Other news just in.
Steve has got himself a new laydee, Julie from Coventry. He's also just moved there, and started work as a hospital porter, he is said to be "in talks" with the director of Holby City, he will do a deal if the "money is right" His agent has refused to comment.
Paul has been going greyer, according to a source close to the band. He has recently declined a deal with Diesel to front a hew range of demin jackes for "the more mature market" citing "other deals would make this offer difficult"
Slasher has been asked to open a new hall for Chorley Ferret Fanciers. He is giving his £1000 fee to charity and is said to be "reet pleased"
Andy (me) is running a half marathon in September for charity and has been slaving his arse off in the Gym (Hi to all at Spirit Health Club). I can't think of anything silly to say about me, so I'll ask the guys, I'll post the best suggestion, so long as It doesn't make me look like a total tit.
Thats it for now......more news to follow later in the year.
Update Nov 1st 2006
Getting hassled from all sides to update the website so have done so, The winter season is kicking in now, and a flurry of gigs kick off with the Kings Arms in Bicester, and then a rather intimate gig at the General Elliot in South Hinksey Village. Then comes two gigs in Witney at The Chequers and at IZI bar so see you there for those, not much else to report really. See you all soon
Update Jan 19 2007
Well, here we are, a new year. Promises to be a busy year for us as we are booking into April now. The response from people has been fantastic. We have even managed to convert some people resistant to covers bands, if you are reading this you know who you are!
However, its a shame to see the darker side of events, when all one landlord could say when asked did he enjoy our set,was that the pub wasn't busy enough, and he had not made enough money. If it was that easy, every pub in the land would have live music for this guaranted profit. The said imbecile even decided, in his infinate wisdom, we were "not right for the venue". Don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying we are the ultimate in covers bands, but the people listening that night had a great time from were I was (at the front singing incidentally). A number of people came up to us, including some outside as we packed up, saying they enjoyed the night. We don't need idiots like that, and look forward to playing The Avon again (in case you were all wondering) when he has left/fired/fled to foreign lands/self combusted (delete as appropriate). Rant over, happiness reigns Chihuahua style again.
We are currently working on some new tracks, we have been pretty busy gigging and with other committments, that has been the reason for being late in getting some new stuff done, one of the tracks is by The Music enitled, Take The Long Road and Walk It . Sounded great at practice the other night.
Well lastly, some news Ive not told the guys yet, I received my X Factor application form through, I rang up for it months ago for a laugh when the last series ended. (At least it gives me the chance to make a tit of myself on telly if I'm lucky!).
Laters!

Update April 2008
2007 was a busy year for Lost Chihuahua. As well as averaging 2/3 gigs per month-we performed at 4 weddings, 3 private parties, but no funerals. One of the weddings was a deluged High Society Bash in Surrey, and one of the parties was hosted in the grounds of Ardington House-still owned by Barings Bank. Highlights of last year include headlining at PoNaNa's-a basement night-club in Oxford frequented by students, playing at Blakes,Wantage the same night that England got into the Rugby World Cup semis-and a packed gig at Fat LiL's Witney-fotos of which can be found in the gallery section of this site. We rounded off 2007 with a new demo recorded by Steve White-the Witney-based recording Guru(see the front page)-and a highly enjoyable New Year's Eve show at The Seacourt Bridge Inn, Botley.
We took time-out in January to learn new material-which has gone down well so far this year. Looking forward to a busy month in May-when we are returning to The Red Lion,Witney and making our debut at The Blue Boar,Chipping Norton. The Dogs Will Be Out !! See you all soon.

Update June 2008
Evenin' all. Thought I'd do a quick hi to everyone on the Chihuahua blog. Firstly we have had a few cracking gigs recently, things are going pretty well. We did a cracking 30th birthday party for a nice chap called Richard, great marquee and fantastic crowd, a great night was had by all. The second great gig was in Chipping Norton at the Blue Boar. The crowd seemed shy at first to join in....then the place was besieged by firefighters dressed up as pirates! They took over the dancefloor and then all hell broke loose! Ended up being an awesome night so thanks to everyone there.
Other news, Steve had a new drumkit, I actually saw some very suspect stains on the snare and one of the toms, I suspect he has slept with it several times.....slash is having severe memory problems, forgetting various items of his kit....next gig...guitar? we are taking bets!
Thanks to all who saw us at the Red Lion in Witney also, was a fantastic night as usual there, I hope the band nights keep being successful for the new managment there. Well I reckon that's about it for now. See you soon somewhere near you. (Probably somewhere in Oxfordshire)
